Allergy TestingOur Allergy nurse will test for 38 allergens, including dogs, cats, dust mites and more common grasses, trees and molds. Our skin testing is done on the arms and involves scratches (pricks) and placing a small amount of the antigen under the first layer of skin. This is then timed for 10 minutes and measured. TreatmentAllergy shots are a once-a-week injection given in our office They have been proven to be very effective and have been used in the United States for many years. Sublingual Therapy (allergy drops) is a convenient way of administering immunotherapy. They are very effective and have been the treatment of choice in Europe for many years. Drops are placed under the tongue daily at home. Compliance is necessary to achieve the maximum results. Insurance at this time does not cover Sublingual Therapy, and therefore is on a cash-only basis. |
